UNICEF - Tanzania
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) was created in 1946 following the aftermath of World War II. Its mission was to provide emergency food and medical aid to the children of war-ravaged Europe, China and the Middle East. Today, UNICEF helps children in over 160 countries and territories around the developing world. "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" began in 1950 when a Philadelphia youth group, concerned with the plight of the world's children, took up door-to-door collections in empty milk cartons. Since 1950,America's young people have raised over $100 million, providing food, medicine and clean water for the children of the world.
