American Cancer Society PSA
Two Cancer Prevention PSA's from the American Cancer Society. Promoting Colon Cancer test for people over 50 years. "It's clear that people 50 and over just dont see themselves at risk and don't think they need to be screened," said Don McClure, chief executive officer of the Societys Ohio Division. "If we can increase awareness, we will have a tremendous opportunity to save many lives through early detection." Despite overwhelming evidence that screening can save lives many Americans still are not following recommendations from the ACS and others for early detection. Perhaps the least understood aspect of colon cancer, and the most compelling, is the fact that colon cancer can be stopped before it starts if precancerous polyps are found and removed through screening endoscopy (colonoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy), thereby avoiding the disease completely.
