American Lung Association: Asthma Walk Spanish
La American Lung Association es la organización voluntaria de salud más antigua de los Estados Unidos con una oficina nacional y 90 asociaciones constituyentes y afiliadas. La American Lung Association fue fundada en 1904 como la Asociación Nacional para el estudio y la Prevención de la Tuberculosis. A traves de los años, a medida que el número de casos de tuberculosis bajó drásticamente, la asociación amplió sus intereses para incluir otras formas de enfermedad pulmonar y, en 1973, cambió su nombre a American Lung Association. Hoy en día, junto con su sección médica, la American Thoracic Society (ATS), la AmericanLung Association está dedicada a la prevención, cura y control de todos los tipos de enfermedades pulmonar tales como el asma, enfisema, la tuberculosis y el cáncer pulmonar.
