Joseph Nsengimana, Permanent Representative of Rwanda to the UN: “14 years on, the consequences of this tragedy are felt today by genocide survivors, their children and Rwandans everywhere.” Purple is the color of mourning in Rwanda… but more than just a memorial for the dead, this event focused on the importance of the phrase “never again.”
