Every bit of help is important.â€ To help, the IRS has started sending information packages that include a set of instructions and the 1040A form. This has to be completed and sent back to the IRS before Oct. 15. IRS acting commissioner Linda E. Stiff: â€œThe information that we are going to ask them to complete will be very basic, their name, their address, their Social Security number...â€ To qualify, the person must have a valid Social Security number and an income of at least $3,000. The minimum stimulus payment is $300 for a single person, $600 for a married couple, if they file jointly. Gabriela Goddard, AARP segunda juventud: â€œItâ€™s a very simple form. If they need help. They will have the resources of the volunteer of the IRS or the volunteers of the AARP tax-aide.â€ The economic stimulus payment has whetted the appetite of scammers. Beware of phone calls and e-mails that say they are from the IRS. Gabriela Goddard, AARP segunda juventud: â€œThe IRS will only send your information though the mail.â€
