Red Cross - Ready for a New Century, 1956 to 1981
The Red Cross celebrates 125 years of charity. It was during the bloodiest battles of the American Civil War that Clara Barton first made an indelible impression on America. Amid bullets and exploding shells she did not hesitate to enter the heat of battle to care for wounded soldiers of the North and the South. It was Clara Barton's sense of unwavering compassion that would forever define the spirit of the American Red Cross.
