An appeal to save and improve the lives of Iraqi children at risk
The school is far away from home and we have to walk long distance on foot
because there is no transport due to road blockages. Much of the school year
has elapsed and we did not receive anything other than the textbooks. My
parents had to buy notebooks and stationery for the three of us although it's expensive. Our school desks are broken and fans are out of order. We take water in bottles to school because water tanks might not be clean. At the classroom I
pay full attention to the teacher so that I understand what she teaches us well. I also help my classmates when they have difficultly with the homework. I want to become a teacher in future to educate children. When I go home I change my clothes and do my homework. After lunch, I take a nap and in the afternoon I watch cartoon on TV. Sometimes I help my mother with house work. I wish for myself and my sisters to succeed and excel in school. I also hope stability and peace prevail among all Iraqis.
