A Capital choice
The year 2007 marked the 150th anniversary of the selection of Ottawa as Canada's capital. A century and a half ago, Queen Victoria accepted the recommendation of her senior officials
and chose Ottawa as Canada's seat of government That historic decision shaped the development of the Capital region and influenced the evolution of Canada as a nation.
