World Bank: Women entrepreneurial programs in Africa
Empowering women to create better economics is the central theme of a two day conference beginning in Berlin on Feb. 22. During the event, leaders from government, industry, finance and the international community will meet to discuss ways to better educate women throughout the world. The conference, to be opened by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, will look at various issues including gender biases in Africa. Efforts already underway to help rid these biases include loans and training programs in Uganda. Under these programs women are trained to become entrepreneurs and educated on ways to help them care for their families.
