Intel: Moore's Law
By using less electricity than most household appliances, Intel's 80-core research chip may be an environmentalist's dream. The chip, which is no bigger than a fingernail, is expected to be instrumental in developing future individual or specialized processors. The prototype was first shown by Intel in late 2006 but company officials say there are no current plans to bring the exact 80-core chip to market.
