Extreme Green Landfill-Free
ry to imagine your family reusing or recycling everything – never throwing anything away. Now imagine a huge
manufacturing plant like this doing the same.
Well believe it or not there are companies out there committing to this extreme form of “going green” called “land-fill
free.”Landfill free means that all of the materials that we generate as a result of regular production operations are either
recycled or reused in some way
GM says designing their manufacturing process to be “landfill-free” is a win-win-win, because it’s better for the
environment, it creates jobs, and by reducing, recycling and reusing as much product as possible they ultimately save
money. In fact, the company’s goal is to have half of its major manufacturing operations landfill free by 2010
